Looking for Alaska

Looking for Alaska is about the unpopular boy Miles “Pudge” Halter, who starts at the boarding school Culver Creek. Miles quickly makes friends with his roommate Chip “the colonel” and his friends Takumi and Alaska.

After Miles is mocked by a group of rich students called the Weekday Warriors, Chip swears, that they will get revenge. Alaska and Chip wants to play a prank on the Weekday Warriors. During the preparation of the prank Miles focus on his favourite subject, religion, and he hangs out with his friends. Especially Alaska seems to like Miles, and she tells him about a special question, she would like to know the answer to. The question, “How will I ever get out of this labyrinth,” is from a book called The General in His Labyrinth, and Alaska (later on Miles) spends a lot of time thinking about it.

Since Miles has never had a girlfriend, Alaska promises Miles to get him a girlfriend. When the friend group plus a friend of Alaska called Lara, Alaska’s boyfriend, and Chip’s girlfriend go to a basketball game, Alaska seizes her change to get Miles a girlfriend, namely Lara. Unfortunately, Miles gets a concussion and pukes on Lara’s pants. Nevertheless, Lara becomes a member of the friend group, and before long Lara has a crush on Miles. The problem is that Miles is in love with Alaska, but Alaska has a boyfriend.

Meanwhile the thanksgiving vaccination Miles stays on campus with Alaska, and Miles realises, that he is madly in love with her. When the vaccination is over, and the prank is ready, Miles, Chip, Alaska, Takumi and Lara sneak of campus. In the night, they prank the Weekday Warriors by making their shampoo blue and writing a letter to their parents. In the following nights, they get really drunk, and Lara becomes Miles’s girlfriend. A couple of days after Alaska and Chip get drunk again, and Alaska makes out with Miles. Afterwards she gets really upset and drives of campus. On her drive, something terrible happens, and the rest of the year Miles tries to figure out why it happened and why she did it.
